How many muscles does it take to walk?  One-your heart! The MDA Muscle Walk is a series of local walk events across the country held to pay tribute to and raise funds for children and adults served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The walks are family-oriented gatherings and light exercise for everyone — children, adults, grandparents, students, corporate teams and more.

The Bayou City Classic 10k is Houston's premier 10k race and walk! The Bayou City Classic 10k has been a Houston tradition for more than 30 years and attracts more than 3000 runners, walkers, and volunteers. New in 2012 is the Bayou City Classic 5k Fun Run & Walk! Proceeds from the Bayou City Classic go toward helping maintain and develop trails for running and walking in our city parks.

A vibrant international city, cultural diversity, picturesque parks and a leading medical community making cancer history-all provide obvious and persuasive reasons why we'll walk in the great city of Houston. You'll walk amidst glorious oak trees, funky antique and craft shops, designer boutiques and pictorial greenbelts while witnessing Houston's skyline, which showcases some of the best modern architecture around. This event takes place on a beautiful spring weekend.

The premier eco-friendly green running event in Houston during Earth Week. Start your Earth Day celebrations during the Thursday pack pick-up party in the plaza of CITYCENTRE and finish off your week with the best event in Houston on Saturday. Our marquee event is the Green 6.2 10K timed race. For runners who prefer a shorted course, we have added a 5K fun run/walk to the event. The 10K and 5K runs take you through the heart of CITYCENTRE and through a fantastic tree-filled course in the Memorial subdivisions of Fonn Villas and Frostwood. Finally, there is a special Kids K course for those aspiring runners under 11 years old.

The 2012 Walk for lupus NOW & 5k Run is a 5k walkathon and Run hosted by the Lupus Foundation of America, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter. This is the Chapter's annual walkathon with proceeds benefiting Education and Outreach, Direct Services and Research.
