Hi, I’m Krystina! As you can see, my name is spelled in a very odd way, so needless to say I never got one of those key chains with your name on it when I was a kid. [womp womp]
I’m originally from a small (but beautiful) town in northeastern Tennessee, in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. I grew up thinking that I never wanted to leave that area because we were safe from mother nature: no tornados, no hurricanes, and no earthquakes. Then, the summer before I started college, I went to Atlanta to watch a Braves baseball game. I was awe-struck by the big city, and ever since then, I’ve been obsessed with city life. I know it sounds weird, but I love big buildings and traffic! (Ok, I don’t really love traffic, but I love what it represents – a city!)
After college I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida to get a job in my field of major – graphic design. I started working for an advertising agency but quickly found myself falling out of love with it. At the same time, I was falling in love with a local morning radio show. One day I heard that the show was looking for interns, so I applied. After interning for them for a full year, I knew radio was my true calling, and I decided to make the big move to the city of bright lights: Los Angeles.
I worked in radio in L.A. for 4 years, doing everything from promotions to podcasting, nights to mornings, and even hosted my own web show for FOX Sports Radio. I moved back to Tennessee for a brief stint as a morning show host when the opportunity at KRBE fell into my lap. After being unhappy back in the small-town life, I visited Houston looking for 3 things: diversity, forward thinking, and an appreciation for the arts. Boy, did Houston blow me away! Not to mention, once I met the family at KRBE, I knew this was a place where I could be truly happy! Luckily, they must have liked something about me too, because here I am!
Every day I realize how blessed I am to be a part of The Roula & Ryan Show and KRBE! I can’t wait to explore Houston, to meet you, and to create some truly awesome radio! Hit me up!
