Another day, another new social media app! It seems like these days we’re polarized by all the new social media apps available to us. Today is no different, as Meta launches their new direct competitor to Twitter, called Threads.

Threads saw over 30 million users sign up during its first day of launch. The app will act as a companion to the other Meta family applications inviting a more “text-centered” space where users can share their thoughts. According to Meta, Threads is “a new, separate space for real-time updates and public conversations.” There has been no reaction from current Twitter CEO Elon Musk as the company itself has faced scrutiny over its new rules and implications.
