After 27 years of marriage, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Jackman are officially separating. In a statement shared to PEOPLE, the pair says “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.” After meeting in 1995 on the set of the Australian TV series Corelli, the pair would end up having 2 children (Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18) together.

The separation statement was signed by both Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Jackman, citing “This is the sole statement either of us will make.” Back in April when the pair celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary, Hugh Jackman shared a sentimental nod on social media celebrating their family,  “I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage and loyalty is an incredible gift to me.” Their last red carpet appearance was earlier this year at the 2023 Met Gala.
