Chance The Rapper returns to Houston for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo on March 6, 2020.
Chance the Rapper was making waves in the music industry years before his studio album was released. He released two mixtapes, “10 Day” and “Acid Rap,” in 2012 and 2013, respectively, creating massive online buzz about the talented rapper from Chicago. Both free, digital download mixtapes were widely well-received, gaining the attention of music fans and critics alike.
In 2016, following the success of his first two projects, Chance the Rapper released his third independent mixtape, “Coloring Book,” receiving critical acclaim for his work. “Coloring Book” climbed the Billboard 200 chart and earned three GRAMMY® Awards, the first-ever streaming-only album to win the prestigious honor.
It wasn’t until 2019 that Chance the Rapper released his first full album, still as an independent artist. “The Big Day” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, his highest-charting project to date and his third top 10 performance, following “Acid Rap” and “Coloring Book” to the top of the charts.
In 2017, Chance the Rapper made a $1 million donation to the Chicago Public School System to support the arts and enrichment programming.
Chance the Rapper will take RODEOHOUSTON® stage for the first time on Friday, March 6.
