Beyoncé returned to the Met Gala on Monday, May 4, 2026, making her first appearance at the event since 2016. The singer attended the New York gala as one of the evening’s co-chairs, alongside Anna Wintour, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams.
Event organizers set the 2026 dress code as Fashion Is Art, connected to the Costume Institute’s Costume Art exhibition. Beyoncé wore a silver, crystal-covered gown designed by Olivier Rousteing. The look featured a skeleton-inspired structure, a matching jeweled headpiece and a large feathered cape.
Jay-Z and Blue Ivy Carter also attended the event. Blue Ivy, 14, made her Met Gala debut in a white strapless gown with a full skirt and coordinating outerwear.
Beyoncé’s last Met Gala appearance was in 2016, when she wore a latex Givenchy Haute Couture gown for the Manus x Machina theme. Her return added a major music figure to one of fashion’s most closely watched annual events.
